Infrared photography renders surprising and dramatic effects, especially on landscape and architecture textures, structures and shadows. Infrared light waves are not visible to the human eye. Images obtain a false color, sometimes referred to as the “Wood Effect”, where foliage, like trees and glass are reflected in the same way visible light is reflected from snow. Normal blue skies turn very dark, clouds stand out, and atmospheric haze is visible.
